Basic Eligibility for HUBZone

To qualify for the HUBZone program, your business must:

  • Be a small business organized for profit
  • Be at least 51% owned and controlled by U.S. citizens
  • Have its principal office located in a HUBZone
  • Have at least 35% of its employees live in a HUBZone

The full requirements for eligibility are in Title 13 Part 126 Subpart B of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). (There are different requirements for some entities and entity-owned firms.)

Note that SBA and federal regulations often refer to businesses or companies as “firms.”
